En la villa de Aguascalientes, corriendo el año de 1657, ejercía el oficio de Maestro Cirujano, don Alonso Gutiérrez, como consta en una escritura fechada el 26 de mayo del mismo año en la que, Jerónimo de Orozco, se obligaba a pagar por Francisco Flores de la Torre, dueño de la hacienda de Ajojúcar que tenía rentada a Montoro, la cantidad de trescientos dieciocho pesos que Flores de la Torre le debía al referido cirujano Gutiérrez.
Se menciona en 1668, también en Aguascalientes, que el cirujano español, natural de Jaén en Andalucía, don Alonso Gutiérrez falleció el día 4 de abril de 1668 de acuerdo a la siguiente nota:
“Alonso Gutiérrez, natural de la ciudad de Jaén en los Reinos de España, soltero, de oficio cirujano, de casi cien años [de edad], hizo testamento ante el capitán don Joseph de Parga y Gayosso, Alcalde Mayor de esta Villa y dejó por su albacea al licenciado Joseph Masias, presbítero, vecino de esta villa.”

In the town of Aguascalientes, running the year 1657, exercised the office of Master Surgeon, Don Alonso Gutiérrez, as stated in a writing dated May 26 of the same year in which Jeronimo de Orozco, were forced to pay for Francisco Flores de la Torre, owner of the ranch of Ajojucar, that he had leased to Montoro, three hundred and eighteen pesos that Flores de la Torre debt to the referred surgeon Gutiérrez.
